Life

Body Beautiful

Sorry, this is not a post about beautiful body of models or bikini models. This is skin deep and I mean a REAL DEEP. Fits the phrase "Beautiful Inside Out"

This is image of red blood cells is one of a series appearing in the book   Inside The Body: Fantastic Images from Beneath the Skin.

Here the blood cells are traveling along a vein within the liver. The images are provided by the Science Photo Library.

This bead-like structure with its projecting legs is a nerve cell. It sends signals and commands to and from the brain.

This dirty-looking surface is actually a healthy tooth. The cells in the green layer produce enamel, which protects the tooth.

A cross section of a piece of carpet? This is actually the small intestine where food is digested.

The surface of the tongue is rough due to these paillae, which contain the taste buds and send tactile information to the brain.

The cells lining the stomach secrete a layer of mucus to protect against the acidic gastric juices.

These crystals may look pretty, but the kidney stones they form can be extremely painful to pass through the urine.

These match-like structures are found in the brain and secrete a substance that cushions the brain and spinal cord against shock.

Rose petals scattered on a scarlet divan? This is actually the lining of the rectum.

Let's treat our body with respect.

Keep or Toss ?

It is new year and I am sure there's a lot of things to throw away!  (crazy eyes rolling) so let's begin to check what are for keeps and toss.

IN THE BEDROOM

PILLOW

Stash it, but wash and cover it. Your head propper piles up gross sweat, drool, dander and dust mites. But instead of throwing it away, invest in a washable allergy case, which blocks mites and their leftovers, advises Amy Newburger, M.D., a dermatologist in Scarsdale, New York. Wash pillows every few months and change linens weekly, and you can rest easy.

MATTRESSES

Trash it every 8 to 10 years. Over time, the many hours you spend in bed wear down your mattress's springs and support, says Michael Schaufele, M.D., a physiatrist at The Emory Spine Center. Head off the hurt: Research has shown that switching out old mattresses can help relieve pain and stiffness.

IN THE GYM

EARBUDS

Stash for as long as they work. Keep on rockin'! Wipe earbuds weekly with an alcohol swab, and store them away from dirty sneakers, Scott advises. Dr. Newburger suggests using buds with foam covers that you can swap out when they look grungy. If you get ear infections, headphones that rest around the ears cut down on germs.

SPORTS BRA

Stash until it stretches. As long as your girls are still supported, sweat's the big issue: The combo of moisture and friction can irritate sensitive skin, Dr. Newburger says. A wash fixes it. Ladies who don't sweat heavily can air-dry their bras between workouts and machine- or hand-wash after three uses. Heavy sweaters should wash bras each time.

IN THE BATHROOM

TOOTHBRUSH

Trash it after three to four months. Rinse it well and dry it upright, and your brush should stay clean. But do replace it when bristles fray, which can make brushing less effective, the American Dental Association says.

LOOFAH

Trash it every 3 months. As you exfoliate, your loofah collects skin, which bacteria snack on. Launder it every week or two, and buy a new one every season, Dr. Newburger says. Or skip it entirely: Your hands and a body scrub smooth skin equally well.

METAL NAIL FILE
Stash it. You only need to worry about germs on files if you have a skin infection or damage around the nail, says Elizabeth Scott, Ph.D., professor of biology at Simmons College. If so, disinfect a file with alcohol before each use. Emery boards get dull before they get overly buggy.

In the Kitchen

SPONGE

Trash it every 30 days. Your sponge soaks up juices from raw foods and breeds bugs, says Charles Gerba, Ph.D., professor of microbiology at the University of Arizona. Toss it in the dishwasher, laundry or microwave (for 30 seconds while wet) weekly, and adios it after a month.

PLASTIC CONTAINER

Trash it when you spot wear. Avoid microwaving plasticware or putting it in the dishwasher, as both can cause potentially hazardous chemicals to leach out, advises Patricia Hunt, Ph.D., professor in the school of molecular biosciences at Washington State University in Pullman. Hand-wash instead. When it gets brittle, discolored or beat up, toss or recycle it and replace it with glass.

REUSABLE GROCERY BAG
Stash it. Go green and clean. Reusing dirty cloth bags, which can carry fecal bacteria from raw meat and unwashed vegetables, "is like carrying your groceries in your underwear," Gerba says.Washing by machine or hand reduces bag-teria by more than 99.9 percent, according to Gerba's research.

Trip

PANGKOR ISLAND (PIC HEAVY)

I am proud to say we have beautiful beaches here.
One of them is Pulau Pangkor, Perak. This beautiful trip dated 24th of November 2011. It was 4 of us and we had fun! It is a beach after all, how can you not having fun there? The sun, sea breeze and of course those beautiful view....ahhh..

To go to the island we need to hop on a ferry....

Ferry to Pangkor Island (1/2 hour ride)

Fee: RM 10 (adult)           RM5 (children)

Jetty
(I'm already feeling excited here.....eeeee)

If you know to ride a motorcycle, please rent it (RM 30 per day) because
you can ride around the whole island and the fuel is cheap too!

REMINDER: Do not rent a bicycle there, even though riding a bicycle would be an adventure with hills and curves, but because they don't keep
those bicycles in good shape, the last thing you want to do is getting killed so BIG NO-NO.
Price is RM4 per hour and after 4 hours, it will be RM20 and considered whole day rent. That kind of
shitty bike,never again!

Too bad none of us knew how to ride a bike and we ended up paying at least RM60 for
transportation.

This is our RIDE.

You going to see a lot of store selling almost the same dresses!
because of that repetitive marketing, it does makes me want to buy one!

Arrived to this small town...

And a lot of sea foods products!

This is where we crash for the night....(not really those room though)

One of  main attraction, DUTCH FORT. It is build in 1670 and used for storing tin and stronghold against pirates.AAAARRRR!!!

Foo Lin Kong Temple
you have to go here, there is GIANT FISH resides here.I'M SERIOUS!!!  I am using capital letters to emphasis the seriousness of my words.
Can you see how huge is it? Perhaps not. Well.. then again.. seeing is believing.

 The Beach

Activity on the beach. For RM15 (2 hours), it is worth it. I am afraid of heights and I can't swim. So this is very challenging for me personally but I've made it and it feels so good! *pat on my back*

 The Cats!
Island cats. They are super friendly and they have sweet life being beach cat.

Another activity is around the island on a boat for RM15 to see this LOVERS TREE. If you are lucky, it will grow flowers but the guide told us, it is only once a year... *sigh*

love snorkeling? It is in the package as well. RM15 is really worth it.

After all that fun, we just have to do cliché pose! JUMP!
